About the Origins and Responsibility of Personal Futurist Materials
This material has been developed by Personal Futurist and refined with the support of AI tools. It brings together well-established perspectives from futures studies, systems thinking, psychology, behavioral science, and related fields. While the concepts are grounded in decades of academic and applied research, the content presented here is an original synthesis created specifically for this program through the personal experiences of their developer.
No direct quotations or proprietary frameworks have been copied from any single researcher or publication. Instead, the work draws from the broad body of knowledge built by scientists, scholars, and practitioners whose contributions have shaped our understanding of foresight, human behavior, wellbeing, and complex systems. Their foundational insights make this kind of integrative work possible, and they deserve recognition for the breadth of thinking the field now stands on. In those materials and tools that are more directly applied, the references have been specified.
As the creator of this course, Personal Futurist assumes full responsibility for how these ideas are interpreted, simplified, and combined. The aim has been to translate complex, multidisciplinary knowledge into accessible, practical guidance that supports personal change and futures-oriented thinking, without claiming ownership over the underlying scientific foundations.
This approach allows participants to benefit from the most widely supported principles in the field, while keeping the material transparent, ethically sourced, and openly connected to the research traditions it builds upon.
If you are interested in exploring the academic roots of these ideas further, you are warmly encouraged to dive into the extensive literature in futures studies, systems sciences, cognitive and behavioral sciences, and wellbeing research, fields that continue to evolve and inspire new ways of understanding our personal and collective futures.
A note on what this is, and isn't
